As an amateur artist my interest in painting was inspired by my art teacher, Sister St Thomas (Rosemary Crumlin) while studying at OLMC Parramatta, NSW. Sister Rosemary later curated 'Beyond Belief' an exhibition 'Modern Art and the Religious Imagination' at the National Gallery of Victoria in 1998. Sarah McDonald's Art School in Adelaide has been instrumental in furthering my painting journey.
Seascapes in Australia, and landscapes in Clare and the Barossa Valley as well as Tasmania have inspired me.
Colour, its intensity and ever changing hues keeps me challenged to re-create the beauty of nature on canvas. |
